Starting his woodworking career in a Connecticut boat works at the age of 10, under the tutelage of craftsmen– some of whom had come up working and sailing square-rigged ships in the late 19th Century – Michael Millard brings a unique perspective and set of skills to the task of building of individual instruments for individual musicians.
This Froggy Bottom custom F12 with Engleman Spruce top, AAAA Koa sides and back, and Brazillian Rosewood fret board with K and K pickup came to us from its second owner who purchased it in 2015. The very special bit of history in this guitar is that its first owner was none other than Petria Mitchell who hand crafted the beautiful and unique Mammoth ivory heel caps for these instruments. Petria was Michael Millards girlfriend at the time and the label is signed by Michael with some loving words for Petria. There are some minor surface dings in the guitar as it is now going on 28 years old, but its beauty and sound remain as if they were hand crafted yesterday. Nut width is 1 3/4″ and scale length 25.4″ Comes with original hard shell case.
