Gibson A1 Mandolin in good shape. Fully playable and set up sounding great. Has moderate fret wear and has had replacement of some of the back binding. Spruce top with maple back and sides. Mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard.
Since Gibson stopped mandolin production during World War Two, these are hard to date without a clear serial number, which this has none. all we could find under the treble side f hole was the numbers 49 and 13. Our best guess of date of manufacture based on the script style, 10″ wide body and 13 7/8″ scale length is between 1942 and 1949
A beautiful and great sounding mandolin.
