This was a 1958 Gibson ES225 that came to us with some water damage to the finish and missing some of its original parts, so the highly skilled and imaginative luthiers here at Goat Peak Strings decided that it was ok to “hot rod” this guitar. We are calling this a Gibson ES 123 now. Our rather tongue-in-cheek title is due to the 3 J.S. Moore custom wound pickups we put in. Other additions to this guitar are a Gotoh tunamatic bridge, 5 way switch, vintage 70’s Gibson Keystone tuners, custom pickguard, custom 123 truss rod cover, chicken head selectors with custom plate, and repro gold bonnet knobs. All this has created a uniqe and beautiful guitar with an amazing array of fabulous tone! weighs in at 6lbs. 4.5oz.
