1925 Gibson TB-4 Ball Bearing Tenor Banjo with repro 5 String neck with Mahogany resonator with dual concentric rings. serial # 8103-10. This early 25′ pot is all complete with no missing parts (original case and neck long gone), including the Presto Tail piece punched for 5 string, and Chrome hardware listed as a rare but possible variant for that year, and the tension hoop is marked Waverly E2 so we feel it is likely the original tube and plate flange and hoop. The Original tone ring set up has the holes on the outside of the ring (swiss cheese!) as was the practice in the early models. I have added a ton of pictures of everything. The repro 5 string neck is from the mid 1970’s and is mahogany with the proper inlays in the head stock including the block Mastertone lettering with period correct Grover Pancake Tuners that work great( modern 5th string tuner). You don’t see many TB-4 banjos from 25′ , and the set up is great , this would be a sweet player that has not been messed with, neck slot in reso likely recut, see picture. Full thickness rim has slight delam, but pics make it look more obvious. Shipping via Fedex fully insured in the CONUS as soon as payment is completed/cleared. We would love the buyer to be able to come in and play this in the shop, it is worth the trip!
