A wonderful piece of history in good cosmetic condition and great playing shape! This National Style 1 Plectrum Tenor is great for collectors and players alike. Maple neck with ebony strip is in very good condition and frets are good on its ebony fingerboard and it plays clean up and down the neck. 27″ plectrum scale length. Body is nickel plated brass and has some small spots of oxidation. Cone and biscuit are in good shape. Replaced screws in coverplate and there is an unusual piece of metal welded to the underside of the plate that we are not sure of what purpose it would have served, yet it does not hinder the performance of the instrument in any way. Came to us without a case and we are providing a gig bag for some protection and transport. The serial number 917 dates this to between 1929 and 1934.
